Title 1

Welcome to Title 1! We are excited that you are taking the time to support your child’s learning through Title 1 services.

Once again, the year has started out with a BANG! Title I staff recently completed reading and math Benchmark testing with all students in grades K-5 as well as the 6-8 students at Isanti Middle School and the Minnesota Center. Interpreting the data has been the next step in order to determine which student(s) qualify for additional academic support through Title I services. Letters have recently been sent to parents from the classroom and Title I teachers letting them know that their child is eligible for services. (see the criteria page of this website if you have further questions about eligibility)

We are also preparing for our first Title I parent activity which will be held Tuesday November 20h from 5:30-7:00 in the Multi-Purpose room #109 at Cambridge Primary School. Please join us as we will be discussing the Parent Compact, Strategies to use at home with your child, what Title I looks like in Cambridge Isanti schools, and much more. We will also have time for you to meet the Title I teachers, and to have your questions answered about your child or the program itself.

Another very important part of Title I is our parent involvement. We encourage parents to join our planning teams as your input is valued. The commitment on your end is minimal. We hope to meet 3-4 times per year to discuss Title I issues and to plan for your child’s supplemental education. I encourage all parents to browse the parent involvement section in our website to see what we have available.

Our goal in Title 1 is to help children understand the basics of math and reading in order for them to be successful in their grade level classroom instruction. It is important that we work together as parents, students, and teachers to ensure that your child reaches his or her academic standards.
