CIS Blue Jacket Pride Recognition
Students and staff at Cambridge Intermediate celebrated achievement successes in both character and academic areas during the grade level Blue Jacket Pride Recognition Ceremonies! Students earned over 800 dog tags in the areas of perfect attendance, reading, math, music, and character traits. During the celebrations, students participated in activities and spotlighted words that would support their endeavor in doing their best on the MCA – focus, determination, persistence, concentrate and stamina. We are looking forward to a wonderful Trimester 3!
Hitting a HOME RUN for our Community!
Students and their families, along with staff at Cambridge Intermediate School, held a Food Drive March 17-28. The Character Trait “compassion” was discussed throughout the two weeks by students and staff, and students were taught the lesson of giving and how it can make our community a better place. In connection with the start of the Minnesota Twins baseball season, students “Hit a Homerun” when they delivered the items to Family Pathways on March 28!
One class in particular, Mrs. Jacobsma’s fourth grade students, took a creative, fun, and life-long learning approach. Rather than just bringing in items and adding them to the growing collection, teacher and students decided to collect money and go shopping! Cash donations from students and staff, along with huge support from Springvale Baptist Church, made the trip to Cub Foods a memorable one! Students had over $575 to spend! With calculators in hand, and the thought of compassion and caring for others in their minds, students set out to get the most products for the money.
Students were encouraged to compare brands, the size of the container, and overall value. Students took their mission very seriously. Mrs. Jacobsma and the volunteers were impressed by the students’ effort and eagerness to find the best deal. A lesson in compassion, with a little computation, turned in to a wonderful day of learning!
Thanks to all who were able to support us!!
